Storage Virtual Machines : Protection : SnapMirror : Managing mirror relationships for Data ONTAP 8.2 : Quiescing mirror relationships

Quiescing mirror relationships
You should quiesce a mirror destination to stabilize the destination before taking a Snapshot copy. The quiesce operation enables active SnapMirror transfers to finish and disables future transfers for the mirroring relationship.
About this task
You can quiesce only SnapMirror relationships that are in Snapmirrored state.
Steps
1.
From the home page, double-click the appropriate storage system.
2.
Expand the Storage Virtual Machines hierarchy in the left navigation pane.
3.
In the navigation pane, select the Storage Virtual Machine (SVM) that contains the destination volume and click Protection.
4.
Select the mirror relationship that you want to quiesce.
5.
Click Operations > Quiesce.
6.
Select the confirmation check box and click Quiesce.
7.
If you are quiescing data transfers on an Infinite Volume, click Run in Background to run the operation in the background.
It takes longer to quiesce data transfers of an Infinite Volume than of a FlexVol volume.
